"Blind and improvident"

U.S. Senator Robert C. Byrd (D-WV) made some really good remarks on giving Bush the power to attack Iraq last week, starting:

The great Roman historian, Titus Livius, said, " All things will be clear and distinct to the man who does not hurry; haste is blind and improvident."

Of course, the Senate ignored Byrd. Sigh.
