Acronyms gone awry

A couple years ago, The Register published some sort of opinion piece titled "CPU initiative wasted on extra terrestrials," which complained about people wasting valuable processor cycles on the SETI@Home effort instead of doing something useful like human-genome-related processing.

The piece isn't really all that interesting, but I did find this line amusing:

SETI, which stands for the search for extraterrestrial life,...

Reminds me of the ROTFLMAO explanation I mentioned a few months back.
