Curses

Luke H. just pointed to a New Yorker humor piece from mid-2004, "New Details Surface," by Paul Simms, that made me laugh a lot. An excellent send-up of the common journalistic practice of describing epithets that the publication can't actually print.
Sample:
Mr. Cheney--apparently hearing Mr. Leahy’s remark--stopped, turned, and invited his colleague from across the aisle to engage in a sexual act that is considered a felony in some states, and which involves oral-genital contact.
It goes on from there. I especially loved the paragraph about the gavel.
