Two items just in:
First, Google to advertise on the moon, a vnunet.com article by one Arif Pollo, published today. "In the most wide-scale advertising attempt ever known, Google plans to brand its logo into the surface of the moon so that it is visible from Earth."
Meanwhile, back on Earth, Google has today launched Google Romance (Beta), "a place where you can post all types of romantic information and, using our Soulmate Search™, get back search results that could, in theory, include the love of your life."
I highly recommend clicking all of the links from the Google Romance page; there's a lot of good stuff there. I especially like this:
When you do a Soulmate Search, your deeply personal and potentially life-altering search results are produced solely by computer algorithm, without human intervention of any kind.
Note: depending on your personality, you may or may not find this reassuring.
Even the press release is worth reading (all the way through, including the "About" section), especially if you've been following news about Google in the past couple of months.
The FAQ is good, too. And the error pages are perhaps my favorite parts.
