Suddenly acquired a cold, or maybe something flu-like, on Thursday morning. I think it had been slowly building over the previous several days, but starting Thursday morning, I had an intermittently drippy nose and a case of severe tiredness.
By Friday evening, I had also acquired a headache, and all my teeth ached, and I was feeling cold all the time, and the tiredness had bloomed into total exhaustion.
I went to bed around 11:30 p.m. on Friday, very early for me, and drifted in and out of sleep for twelve hours. Finally woke up fully a little before noon on Saturday. Felt a little more rested, but I'm not sure how much of that time was actual sleeping.
Over the course of the rest of the weekend, I did some magazine stuff, but not everything I was supposed to, and I completely failed to get important day-job work done--I have three projects due this coming Wednesday at work, and I meant to put in a few hours each on two of them over the weekend.
I'm not as exhausted as I was on Friday, but still occasionally nose-drippy, and a little tired and achey. And I picked up Kam's occasional cough on Friday or Saturday.
So I suppose the thing to do is to try and get some sleep, and settle down to focus on day-job stuff in the morning. But maybe I'll try and get a little more done tonight.
Anyway. I guess my main point is that I'm not firing on all cylinders right now (witness the fact that it took me about 36 hours to finish and post this entry, after starting it on Saturday afternoon), so forgive me if I'm slow or off-kilter.
