No Book Report

I know I’m a curmudgeon, and an old one, to boot, but—how is it possible that my local public library does not own a copy of The Mysterious Disappearance of Leon (I Mean Noel) at any of its three branches? And is it really out of print? How is that remotely acceptable?

I have placed a request through InterLibrary Loan. But I am Not Happy.

OH ... MY ... GOD
This was my favorite book from between the years of "really getting the hang of reading" to "about to do the junior high school thing." I wrote at least three book reports on it for school - different school each time. My family moved a couple of times. The Fort Wayne library has a copy, if ILL goes travels that far.
