I <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/jed.hartman\/posts\/pfbid02GmGWLdQMgxuoxahJnJcvsX2Q2YGKY4x6tRTT3BS3q8uL7SSjmuPuEt7SpD2LJRP2l\">posted it on Facebook<\/a> formatted as prose; I enjoy formatting verse as prose, but I suspect that much of the time when I do that, it\u2019s not clear to readers that it\u2019s verse. So here it is formatted more like a sonnet.<\/p>\r\n<div class=\"stanza\">\r\n<p>So, Kat and I were talking weeks ago;<\/p>\r\n<p>she mentioned <cite>Cyrano de Bergerac<\/cite>.<\/p>\r\n<p>I said I hadn\u2019t read it; she said \u201cOh!\u201d,<\/p>\r\n<p>and seemed to find my ignorance a lack<\/p>\r\n<p>that should be remedied. So she set out<\/p>\r\n<p>to read the play entire, through and through,<\/p>\r\n<p>to me by telephone. I was in doubt<\/p>\r\n<p>at first, but over time my laughter grew<\/p>\r\n<p>along with my delight. The play is rife<\/p>\r\n<p>with wit\u2014translated by B.
