I\u2019m batting over par.<\/p>\r\n<p>My poetry seems flawed when I\u2019m pedantic.)<\/p>\r\n<p>Then, too, you want someone with whom to spar....<\/p>\r\n<p>I\u2019ve called myself a practical idealist;<\/p>\r\n<p>My self-descriptions contradict and jar:<\/p>\r\n<p>A serious, laughing, visionary realist.<\/p>\r\n<p>Though I may not be everything you want,<\/p>\r\n<p>I might be worth a try. (Is that too blunt?)<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2>Notes<\/h2>\r\n\r\n<p>I wrote this in a letter to a then-potential (now ex-) sweetie. Being a generalist can involve certain apparent contradictions...
