{"id":10961,"date":"2008-02-12T20:45:14","date_gmt":"2008-02-13T04:45:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kith.org\/journals\/jed\/2008\/02\/12\/10961.html"},"modified":"2008-02-12T20:45:14","modified_gmt":"2008-02-13T04:45:14","slug":"yes-we-can-videos-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/jed\/2008\/02\/12\/yes-we-can-videos-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Yes, We Can videos"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Obama's \"<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Fe751kMBwms\">Yes, We Can<\/a>\" concession speech in New Hampshire last month (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2008\/01\/08\/us\/politics\/08text-obama.html?_r=1&pagewanted=all\">transcript<\/a>) was yet another inspiring piece of oratory, especially the last few minutes of it.<\/p>\n<p>As probably everybody but me knew, will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas turned parts of the speech into a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=1yq0tMYPDJQ\">music video<\/a>, which I also really liked, despite not recognizing a single one of the celebrities featured in it. (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kith.org\/journals\/vardibidian\/2008\/02\/04\/10935.html\">Vardibidian had a different take on that aspect<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>But what if some musicians decided to give similar treatment to another candidate? What if, for example, john.he.is put together a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=3gwqEneBKUs\">music video of a McCain speech<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p>I suppose it's a bit of a cheap shot, but I found it very entertaining--even more so after I went and watched the original.<\/p>\n<p>Vardibidian also points out an entertaining <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=oZrmfv0J15k\">fake ad for Romney<\/a>.
