{"id":11199,"date":"2008-05-31T18:40:18","date_gmt":"2008-06-01T01:40:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kith.org\/journals\/jed\/2008\/05\/31\/11199.html"},"modified":"2008-05-31T18:40:18","modified_gmt":"2008-06-01T01:40:18","slug":"women-in-horror","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/jed\/2008\/05\/31\/women-in-horror\/","title":{"rendered":"Women in Horror"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I just happened across a site called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pretty-scary.net\/\">Pretty\/Scary<\/a>: \"For Women in Horror, By Women in Horror.\"<\/p>\n<p>I'm not into horror myself, but there were various items I found interesting on the front page, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A note about the forthcoming <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pretty-scary.net\/article1776.html\">20th-anniversary DVD of <cite>Heathers<\/cite><\/a> (which also mentions a forthcoming movie called <cite>Sex and Death 101<\/cite> that's written by the same guy, Daniel Waters, and features Winona Ryder; but it's not a <cite>Heathers<\/cite> sequel or anything).<\/li>\n<li>A list of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pretty-scary.net\/article1774.html\">female finalists for this year's Shirley Jackson awards<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>A reference to a next season for <cite>Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles<\/cite>; I missed Fox's official <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fox.com\/programming\/shows\/returning\/terminator.htm\">renewal announcement<\/a> a couple weeks ago. Yay!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Anyway, I'm guessing that any of y'all women who are into horror already know about this site, but I figured it couldn't hurt to point to it just in case.<\/p>\n<p>P.S.: Is there a directory somewhere of genre-related and\/or geeky sites by\/for women?
