It was fun almost all the way through, and I laughed almost nonstop for the last ten or fifteen minutes. (Kam laughed a lot too, though I'm not sure whether she enjoyed it quite as much as I did.)

It's definitely fluff, and the plot isn't anything terribly unusual. And I'm glad I didn't realize that it was loosely based on the comic strip of the same name, because I've never much enjoyed the comic strip. But I really enjoyed the movie quite a lot.

At the start of the DVD, there was a preview for Flushed Away, after which I remarked that I wasn't really fond of slapstick. But then Over the Hedge turned out to be full of really funny slapstick.

Good cast, too: Bruce Willis, William Shatner, Nick Nolte, Alison Janney, Eugene Levy. Plus others I haven't seen as much of (Garry Shandling, Steve Carell, Wanda Sykes, Avril Lavigne) who also did a good job.

Anyway, if you're looking for something fun, slight, and family friendly (rated PG "for some rude humor and mild comic action"), you could do much much worse.

After Xmas dinner this evening, Kam and I decided to watch something silly and fluffy, and it just so happened…

[44,43

post-11742","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-movies","category-reviews
["GET
