The South Pasadena Unified Grade \"A\" Jug Band, consisting of students grades K-5, did a music video reworking Woody Guthrie's song \"Do Re Mi\" to ask Gov. Schwarzenegger not to cut the California education budget. The original song's chorus has been running through my head for the past couple days, after I first encountered this video, so now you can share the earworm.<\/p>\n

Imagine that you're standing in front of a room full of people, and you're giving a presentation, but you've never seen any of the slides before and you have to make up the topic as you go. It may sound like a nightmare scenario, but actually it's the Battle Decks Competition at the SXSW 2008 conference, featuring Anil Dash (and other contestants):<\/p>\n

But perhaps even niftier is the large-size 720p version of the video, which used to be available for downloading but apparently isn't any more. (Vimeo says that you can download it if you log in, but it's lying; if you log in, it tells you that the video isn't available for downloading.) If you can find the large-size version somewhere, it's worth seeing.
