But one last item for now, something I meant to post last night, an amusing phrase from the world of traffic management:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\"Mainline weaving operations\" refers to the competing movements of cars trying to enter and exit the freeway on the same stretch of roadway.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>(Got that from a page about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vta.org\/highways\/rte85101n.htm\">improvements they're making to a freeway interchange<\/a> near my apartment.)<\/p>\n<p>So next time some idiot cuts you off when they're trying to enter the freeway as you're trying to exit, or vice versa, you can mutter, \"damn mainline weaving operations!\"<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I know, I know, I have too much work to do to be sitting here journalling.
