Here in California, it'll happen Monday morning at 9:47 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>I'm really really looking forward to the days getting longer again.<\/p>\n<p>Was listening to iTunes while writing some submission-management code just now, and Vienna Teng's \"<a href=\"http:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/album\/waking-hour\/id4531817\">Lullabye for a Stormy Night<\/a>\" came on. The tune is a little bit too much like \"It's All Coming Back to Me Now,\" but it's nonetheless a lovely song. As usual when her songs come up, I had to stop and listen to the lyrics. It's a song for a frightened child during a storm. I particularly like this bit:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"stanza\">\n<p>This same rain that draws you near me<\/p>\n<p>Falls on rivers and land<\/p>\n<p>And forests and sand<\/p>\n<p>Makes the beautiful world that you see<\/p>\n<p>In the morning.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>There are a couple of awkward phrases in the lyrics, but mostly I like 'em. If you want to hear the whole song before buying it, instead of just the clip from the iTunes Store, there's a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=mlmhMS_luX8\">YouTube video<\/a> (where the video part just shows the lyrics flowing past).<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Only two more days &#8217;til Winter Solstice.
