Picked up groceries, came home, worked at home.

Today, intended to go in to the office, but then thought, y'know, I could use some solitary downtime. So I worked at home again.

Monday is a work holiday. I have no plans for the next three days, except seeing Jay & Holly & Avery at my place on Sunday.

You know what this means?

I can avoid leaving the house for five consecutive days! And I don't even have to get dressed for most of that time!

I realize that that doesn't sound exciting to those of you who've been trapped inside lately for one reason or another. But it sounds mighty nice to me.

Of course, chances are good that at some point in the next couple days, I'll end up going out and seeing people after all. Which will also be good.

But right now, I'm expecting to spend most of the next three days doing nothing but magazine stuff, taxes, watching DVDs, playing DDR, and reading Tam Lin.

That last being where I encountered this quote:

True happiness is of a retired nature, and an enemy to pomp and noise; it arises, in the first place, from the enjoyment of one's self, and in the next from the friendship and conversation of a few select companions.

—Joseph Addison, The Spectator, March 17, 1911

(Yes, yes, for many people that's not true happiness. For that matter, it's often not for me either. But it often is.)

(Addendum: May also spend some time playing other Wii games, because I just found the game discs for Wii Sports and Wii Fit! They've been missing for six months. Turns out they were at the very bottom of a box labeled "software" that was full of commercial software DVDs. Rather than, for example, in the box labeled "Wii," which is where I keep looking for them (even though it's now empty) because it's the obvious place for them.)

Dropped Jim off at the airport yesterday morning.
