(For works published in 2009.)<\/p>\n<p>Ever since then, I've been meaning to post, to mention that <cite>Strange Horizons<\/cite> is represented twice on this year's ballot. I imagine that everyone who cares about this has known for two months now, but since the award ceremony (and thus the announcements of winners) will happen in two days, I figured I really ought to finally post.<\/p>\n<p>The two <cite>SH<\/cite>-related nominations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n  <li>Our editor-in-chief Susan Marie Groppi was nominated in the Special Award&mdash;Non-Professional category.<\/li>\n  <li>Helen Keeble's novelette &ldquo;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.strangehorizons.com\/2009\/20090601\/journal-f.shtml\">A Journal of Certain Events of Scientific Interest from the First Survey Voyage of the Southern Waters by HMS <i>Ocelot<\/i>, As Observed by Professor Thaddeus Boswell, DPhil, MSc<\/a>&rdquo; was nominated in the short story category. (The WFA doesn't have a novelette category, just short story and novella.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I am delighted by both of these nominations. Susan was previously nominated <a href=\"http:\/\/www.locusmag.com\/SFAwards\/Db\/Wfa2007.html\">three years ago<\/a>, but other than that I don't think we've ever appeared on the WFA ballot; I think Helen's story is the first thing we've published that's been on the ballot.<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two months ago, the nominees for this year&#8217;s World Fantasy Award were announced.
