Acclaimed science fiction and horror writer Ed Bryant<\/a> has been having some medical and financial issues<\/a> lately.<\/p>\n

So some friends of his have put together an auction to raise money to help him out.<\/p>\n

There'll be a live auction at MileHiCon in Denver this coming weekend, but for those of us who won't be there, it's being supplemented by an eBay auction<\/a>, which includes stuff that won't be available at the live auction.<\/p>\n

And time is running out; most of the eBay items expire four days from now.<\/p>\n

There's all sorts of stuff available: a pencil drawing<\/a> by Thomas Canty from Feast for Crows<\/cite>; two fountain pens used by Peter Straub<\/a> to write two of his novels; three handcrafted pieces of beadwork by Vonda McIntyre<\/a> (a “featherless boa,” a sea anemone, and a nudibranch); getting a character named after you in a Carrie Vaughn book<\/a>; and a bunch of books and signed manuscripts and such.<\/p>\n

And the big item:<\/p>\n

Lunch with Neil Gaiman<\/a>.<\/p>\n
