I haven't yet worked out everything I want to say about it, but I figured I'd start with a preliminary post saying I liked it a lot and I recommend it. (Though I assume it would be pretty triggery for some people.) And I found it compellingly readable; it usually takes me a week or two to get through a book, but I read this one in a day.

It's available on paper and in Kindle format from Amazon; I got it in ebook form from iBooks.

More about it when I've had more time to think about it and to figure out what I want to say about it.

PS: Jen is having a book launch party on March 28 in San Francisco, at The Booksmith bookstore.

Coincidentally, yesterday I also received in the mail (and read) Fat Ladies in Spaaaaace, subtitled “a body-positive coloring book,” written and drawn by Nicole Lorenz. It too is lovely and awesome: a collection of 18 portraits of fat women in various sfnal contexts, with great (and sometimes hilarious) captions describing who they are. I doubt that I'll use it as a coloring book, but I'm delighted to have it.

Also available from Amazon, but I bought it from Createspace.

Yesterday, I read Jen Larsen’s newly released memoir Stranger Here: How Weight-Loss Surgery Transformed My Body and Messed with My…

[19,43

post-14413","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-books","category-reviews
["GET
