{"id":1450,"date":"2003-09-18T22:46:56","date_gmt":"2003-09-19T05:46:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kith.org\/journals\/jed\/2003\/09\/18\/1450.html"},"modified":"2003-09-18T22:46:56","modified_gmt":"2003-09-19T05:46:56","slug":"favorite-places","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/jed\/2003\/09\/18\/favorite-places\/","title":{"rendered":"Favorite places"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Thanks to Kam, I now have a couple of new favorite places:<\/p>\n<p>Favorite place in Salt Lake City even though I've never been there in person: the astonishing new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slcpl.lib.ut.us\/\">Salt Lake City public library<\/a>.  You can see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sltrib.com\/NIP\/library\/index.asp\">photos and layouts<\/a> in a <cite>Salt Lake Tribune<\/cite> article.  It's amazing, and now I wish we'd gone in when we drove past it back in March or whenever I was out there.  And the library, in addition to having amazing architecture, a cool layout, and sensible and aesthetically pleasing design choices, exhibits entertaining art.  Perhaps I'll get some photos from Kam, or a link to a relevant web page.<\/p>\n<p>Favorite place in Santa Cruz: Well, okay, this one's harder, 'cause there are a lot of great places in Santa Cruz.  But favorite place to live in Santa Cruz if I had unlimited funds would have to be West Cliff.  Great ocean views, plus easy walking distance to the resting place of the monarch butterflies, where they spend the winter.<\/p>\n<p>To avoid death threats from the east-coasterners among you, I'll refrain from talking about the weather in Santa Cruz today.
