{"id":17164,"date":"2018-03-25T21:17:47","date_gmt":"2018-03-26T04:17:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/jed\/?p=17164"},"modified":"2018-03-25T21:17:47","modified_gmt":"2018-03-26T04:17:47","slug":"naming-the-site","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/jed\/2018\/03\/25\/naming-the-site\/","title":{"rendered":"Naming the site"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>I still haven\u2019t come up with a name for my website, and I\u2019m getting tired of the placeholder name \u201cWhat is the name of this site?\u201d So I\u2019m setting the site name to \u201cLorem Ipsum.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<p>In the old days, Lorem Ipsum was the name of my blog. My site didn\u2019t have a name as such, unless it was \u201cThe Kith,\u201d which I was also never really satisfied with. And really, I mostly didn\u2019t think of the blog as Lorem Ipsum; I thought of it as my blog, and Lorem Ipsum as a convenient joke label that I had assigned to the blog \u2019cause I needed a title. (I don\u2019t know if I ever explicitly said: it was meant to be a self-deprecatory joke, suggesting that the content of the blog was filler\/placeholder text.)<\/p>\r\n<p>At any rate, in the new WordPress setup, I\u2019m not sure it makes sense for the blog to have a different title from the rest of the site, and even if that makes sense conceptually, I\u2019m not sure there\u2019s a way to present it that would be clear. (I could rename the \u201cBlog\u201d tab to \u201cLorem Ipsum,\u201d but that wouldn\u2019t be clear to new visitors to the site.)<\/p>\r\n<p>So for now, I\u2019m putting the name Lorem Ipsum on the whole site.
