(It’s already been shut down in some browsers.) So if you want to revisit any old-favorite Flash games, now’s the time.

For example, there’s the lovely flOw, made by (at least some of?) the same people who made Journey and Sky and Flower. Microbes eating microbes; pretty graphics; soundscape by Austin Wintory (composer of Journey et alia).

And there are the EYEZMAZE Flash games, such as various Grow games, and the whack-a-mole-like Tontie. Some of the EYEZMAZE games have been rewritten in HTML5, so those will continue to be available, but I assume that others will be gone forever when Flash Player stops working. (PS: the author of these games survived heart surgery in 2019, but is currently having more health issues; if you remember their work fondly, you could drop them a donation to help support them.)

And, of course, there’s the minimalist Risk-like game Dice Wars. I’ve had a love/hate relationship with this game for many years; have started playing it again recently because I know I won’t be able to play it any more after this month. I sometimes enjoy it, sometimes find it frustrating, sometimes find it infuriating. But I imagine that a few years from now, I’ll start missing it.

It wouldn’t surprise me if sooner or later there are Flash emulators and other tools that provide a way to play these games again. But for now, if you want to revisit them, now’s the time.

[58,25

post-18926","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-games","category-web-tech
["GET
