Yes, three and a half days later, the package has at last returned to its ancestral home of Carol Stream, after an epic journey of 1,500 miles to North Carolina and back.

Feb 14, 6 am (~8 hours later): Departed Carol Stream, IL.

Feb 14, 10 am (~4 hours later): Arrived Oak Park, IL. In the same city as destination!

…But Feb 14 is a Sunday, and Feb 15 is a postal holiday, so the package presumably won’t be delivered until Tuesday the 16th.

…This is not a big deal. USPS has been very good to me in general, despite the pandemic and election-related mail and budget issues and snow and rain and heat and gloom of night etc. So I can’t really complain if one of my packages felt like taking the scenic route.

But I was amused enough to feel that it was worth writing up and posting.

And I hope that the package enjoyed the trip, as well as the day-plus that it spent sitting in Greensboro before it was sent back.
