Today (March 28) is the birthday of my friend Jessica E. (Arthur E.'s sister-in-law); Beth O. and I went to Jessica's party down in Santa Cruz tonight. Before the party, we went to dinner at a nice Latin American\/Caribbean fusion restaurant on Pacific called Costa Brava; good food, good service. Somehow even though almost every restaurant I've ever eaten in in Santa Cruz has been good, I can never think of any (other than Saturn Cafe and Palomar, both of which I like but both of which were ruled out tonight for various reasons) when it comes time to eat dinner there. I'll try and remember this one.<\/p>\n
Today is also the birthday of David Horwich, though he was not born in the same year or the same geographical location as Jessica and I were.<\/p>\n
Oh, and it's my birthday too.<\/p>\n
I'll probably spend the day reading subs, revising a story, and gathering information to do taxes. But I'll try to do as much of that as possible outside in the sun.<\/p>\n
Maybe I'll also go to the comic store. Jessica was enthusing about two comics I haven't read: Lucifer<\/cite> (from Vertigo, an ongoing series based on the Neil Gaiman version of the character, with several trade paperback collections available) and Evenfall<\/a><\/cite> (from Slave Labor). And I think I'm probably two or three issues behind on just about everything I buy regularly.<\/p>\n Oh, yeah, and I suppose I'd better do some laundry or I won't have anything to wear on Monday.
