(Though on looking over my list, which some day I'll convert into a Web database, I see that in general I seem to like tough independent female leads, a la <cite>His Girl Friday;<\/cite> I like it when a protagonist of any gender shows some vulnerability, but I like it best when there's a lot of clear competence to balance the vulnerability.
