So here are two weeks\u2019 worth of updates in my family history project.<\/p>\r\n<p>The first letter below is also the first substantive letter after a six-month gap, during which many things happened, including moving to Santa Rosa and starting a foster home.<\/p>\r\n<p>A quick overview of the letters described in more detail below:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n  <li>Peter writes about my new school and about an altar for our ancestors. Also includes a flyer about our church and a drawing of the altar.<\/li>\r\n  <li>A flyer for Hearthlight (the foster home), plus a thank-you letter for many Christmas presents.<\/li>\r\n  <li>Laundry, and human reactions to surprises and Halloween costumes.<\/li>\r\n  <li>Thank-you notes and life updates.<\/li>\r\n  <li>Another piece of kid art.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<dl>\r\n  <dt><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/pmjj\/1973\/12\/10\/1973-december-10-letter-from-peter-to-gh\/\">December 10, 1973<\/a><\/dt>\r\n  <dd>Peter explains why he doesn\u2019t write often, and talks about my new school, and talks about his plan to set up an altar in our home with which to pay respect to our ancestors.<\/dd>\r\n  <dd>\u201cI hope you will understand that this is done not in the spirit of lighting candles and paying a priest to pray somebody out of purgatory, but rather in the spirit of putting flowers on someone's grave.\u201d<\/dd>\r\n  <dt><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/pmjj\/1973\/12\/28\/1973-december-28-hearthlight-flyer-and-letter-from-marcy-to-gh\/\">December 28, 1973<\/a><\/dt>\r\n  <dd>A flyer for Hearthlight (the foster home), plus a thank-you letter for a large number of Christmas presents, including one particularly well-liked major present for the whole family.<\/dd>\r\n  <dd>\u201cI won\u2019t thank you for the Cat In The Hat\u2014you wouldn\u2019t either, after 50 readings or so\u2014but Joaquin does, profusely.\u201d<\/dd>\r\n  <dt><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/pmjj\/1974\/01\/01\/1974-january-letter-from-marcy-to-gh\/\">January, 1974<\/a><\/dt>\r\n  <dd>Marcy has a day of many spilled items, and writes about laundry and about human reactions to surprises and Halloween costumes, among other things.<\/dd>\r\n  <dd>\u201cpart of me loves to be angry. Adrenalin all stirred up, emotions at a high pitch, real, real feelings, alert, senses keyed up[\u2026].
