And one of which isn't actually wrong, according to the dictionary. (But what do those dictionary-makers know?)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"word-as-word\">proscribe<\/span> for <span class=\"word-as-word\">prescribe<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"word-as-word\">worse<\/span> for <span class=\"word-as-word\">worst<\/span> (* \"Do your worse!\")<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"word-as-word\">break<\/span> for <span class=\"word-as-word\">brake<\/span> (This one is very common.  * \"He slammed his foot down hard on the break pedal.\")<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"word-as-word\">quandry<\/span> for <span class=\"word-as-word\">quandary<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"word-as-word\">besides the point<\/span> for <span class=\"word-as-word\">beside the point<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"word-as-word\">withdrawl<\/span> for <span class=\"word-as-word\">withdrawal<\/span> (I'm surprised I haven't mentioned this before, as it's one of the most common misspellings I see)<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"word-as-word\">scortch<\/span> for <span class=\"word-as-word\">scorch<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"word-as-word\">breath<\/span> for <span class=\"word-as-word\">breathe<\/span> and vice versa (* \"Don't forget to breath.\"  * \"His breathe puffed out in a cloud.\")<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"word-as-word\">wreck<\/span> for <span class=\"word-as-word\">wreak<\/span> (usually in the phrase \"wreck havoc\"&#8212;but this is another one where the dictionary says I'm wrong; <cite>MW10<\/cite> lists <span class=\"word-as-word\">wreak<\/span> as one meaning of <span class=\"word-as-word\">wreck<\/span>.
