{"id":2432,"date":"2004-11-15T22:14:53","date_gmt":"2004-11-16T06:14:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kith.org\/journals\/jed\/2004\/11\/15\/2432.html"},"modified":"2004-11-15T22:14:53","modified_gmt":"2004-11-16T06:14:53","slug":"assorted-congrats","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/jed\/2004\/11\/15\/assorted-congrats\/","title":{"rendered":"Assorted congrats"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I don't have time to post a full entry, but quick congratulations to:<\/p>\n<p>Patrick and Karin Weekes on the birth of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ofoto.com\/BrowsePhotos.jsp?&collid=49303609506&page=1&sort_order=0\">Garrett Jameson Weekes<\/a> early this morning.<\/p>\n<p>Eileen Gunn on the announcement that her new short-story collection <cite><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/tg\/detail\/-\/189239118X\">Stable Strategies and Others<\/a><\/cite> made Amazon's <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/tg\/feature\/-\/546865\/\">Best Books of 2004: Top 10 Editors' Picks: Science Fiction & Fantasy<\/a> list.  (She's in good company: Stephen King, Patricia McKillip, Tad Williams, et alia.)  Which reminds me obliquely that I briefly met the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tachyonpublications.com\/\">Tachyon Publications<\/a> guy, Jacob, at WFC; I had seen him around at cons, but somehow never quite connected him to Tachyon, or realized that Tachyon had published <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tachyonpublications.com\/books.html\">various cool books<\/a>, including Eileen's and the new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tachyonpublications.com\/book\/Tiptree_Anthology.html\">Tiptree anthology<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>That paragraph got a little out of control.  All I really meant to say was: congratulations to all concerned!
