{"id":2442,"date":"2004-11-20T19:21:48","date_gmt":"2004-11-21T03:21:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kith.org\/journals\/jed\/2004\/11\/20\/2442.html"},"modified":"2004-11-20T19:21:48","modified_gmt":"2004-11-21T03:21:48","slug":"five-children-and-it-the-movie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/jed\/2004\/11\/20\/five-children-and-it-the-movie\/","title":{"rendered":"Five Children and It, the movie?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I was looking up a Kenneth Branagh movie just now and happened across the IMDB page for <cite><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0366450\/\">Five Children and It<\/a>,<\/cite> a 2004 British movie based on the 1902 <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/E._Nesbit\">E.&nbsp;Nesbit<\/a> novel of the same name.<\/p>\n<p>The movie features Branagh, Zo&euml; Wanamaker, and Eddie Izzard as the voice of the Psammead.  Going by the trailer, I suspect it has precious little to do with the novel, but it might still be entertaining.<\/p>\n<p>It was released in the UK and at the Boston Fantastic Film Festival last month; sadly, it doesn't appear to have had a wide release in the US yet.  Have any of you seen it?
