{"id":248,"date":"2001-12-29T17:18:12","date_gmt":"2001-12-30T01:18:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kith.org\/journals\/jed\/2001\/12\/29\/248.html"},"modified":"2001-12-29T17:18:12","modified_gmt":"2001-12-30T01:18:12","slug":"stealing-from-sterlings-blog","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/jed\/2001\/12\/29\/stealing-from-sterlings-blog\/","title":{"rendered":"Stealing from Sterling&#8217;s blog"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I'm never quite sure whether to repeat items posted in other public places, but what the hell.<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"http:\/\/www.infinitematrix.net\/columns\/sterling\/\">Bruce Sterling's Weblog<\/a> at <cite>The Infinite Matrix<\/cite> today, he posted links to photos of Vera \"Veruschka\" Lehndorff (who was apparently a famous model in the '60s), taken by Holger Tr&uuml;ltzsch; Lehndorff is nude in these photos, but heavily body-painted to make her blend, chameleon-like, with her background (or perhaps in some cases the photo was edited to produce the effect?).  My two favorites aren't typical of that blend-into-background effect, but are pretty cool: \"<a href=\"http:\/\/www.veruschka.net\/images\/blue.jpg\">iron beam head<\/a>\" (1978) and \"<a href=\"http:\/\/www.veruschka.net\/images\/wald.jpg\">Waldst&uuml;ck in Schnaitsee<\/a>\" (1972).\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m never quite sure whether to repeat items posted in other public places, but what the hell.
