(Given my recent comments about link text, I should note that I'm not being careful about it in this entry; too groggy.)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\"The world's biggest <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sky.com\/skynews\/article\/0,,91059-13263057,00.html\">gathering of Santa Clauses<\/a> has ended in a mass brawl.\"<\/li>\n<li>\"Two <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sky.com\/skynews\/article\/0,,30200-13263120,00.html\">Buddhist monks<\/a> have been disrobed after being caught on a night out in Thailand.\"  (Words like \"defrocked\" and \"disrobed\" always make me think religious figures are stripped naked when their religious posts are taken away.)<\/li>\n<li>\"South Korea has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sky.com\/skynews\/article\/0,,91059-13262155,00.html\">shelved a plan to replace the English word for condom<\/a> with a Korean word&#8212;because [the word they chose] was too similar to people's names.\"<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sky.com\/skynews\/article\/0,,30100-13262100,00.html\">Coast guard rescues action figure<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sky.com\/skynews\/article\/0,,30100-1163087,00.html\">Scotland wins World Cup in elephant polo<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Amsterdam Gay Pride parade organizers <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sky.com\/skynews\/article\/0,,30200-12703287,00.html\">call for more nudity in parade<\/a>.  (This item is actually from 2003; old news.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Oh, and here's an item not from Sky News: Garrison Keillor sings an \"unnervingly catchy tune\" (as an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/print\/0,3858,5057096-110427,00.html\"><cite>Observer<\/cite> article<\/a> puts it) in an animated <a href=\"http:\/\/multimedia.honda-eu.com\/diesel\/Movie.swf\">Honda ad<\/a> (5MB Flash movie), all about how old diesel engines are bad but Honda's new diesel engine is better.  \"Hate something, change something, make something better,\" says the chorus.
