{"id":2867,"date":"2005-05-21T10:01:28","date_gmt":"2005-05-21T17:01:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kith.org\/journals\/jed\/2005\/05\/21\/2867.html"},"modified":"2005-05-21T10:01:28","modified_gmt":"2005-05-21T17:01:28","slug":"awards-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/jed\/2005\/05\/21\/awards-4\/","title":{"rendered":"Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I've been remiss in my duties; I've failed to mention two bits of sf awards news, though those of you who care probably know by now:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Speculative Literature Foundation has announced the results of this year's <a href=\"http:\/\/speculativeliterature.org\/Awards\/SLFFountainAward\/2004.php\">Fountain Award<\/a>; the winner is \"<a href=\"http:\/\/speculativeliterature.org\/Awards\/SLFFountainAward\/stories\/TheAnnalsOfEelin-Ok.html\">The Annals of Eelin-Ok<\/a>,\" by Jeffrey Ford.  I haven't read it yet, but you can read it by following that link.<\/li>\n<li><cite>Locus<\/cite> has announced the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.locusmag.com\/2005\/News\/05_LocusFinalists.html\">finalists for the Locus Awards<\/a>, with the actual award to be given at Westercon in July.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I'm sad to report that nothing related to <cite>SH<\/cite> appears on either of those awards pages.  Alas!<\/p>\n<p>But I'm happy to report that a couple of my favorite non-<cite>SH<\/cite> stories of 2004 are in the Honorable Mentions list for the Fountain Award: \"The Golden Age of Fire Escapes,\" by John Aegard, \"Music Lessons,\" by Douglas Lain, and \"The Lethe Man,\" by David J. Schwartz.
