{"id":3746,"date":"2006-12-09T14:03:56","date_gmt":"2006-12-09T22:03:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kith.org\/journals\/jed\/2006\/12\/09\/3746.html"},"modified":"2006-12-09T14:03:56","modified_gmt":"2006-12-09T22:03:56","slug":"slash-moment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/jed\/2006\/12\/09\/slash-moment\/","title":{"rendered":"Slash moment"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As y'all know, I am rather smitten with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/gallery\/hh\/0051397\/HH\/0051397\/iid_1025539.jpg?path=pgallery&path_key=Bamber,%20Jamie\">Jamie Bamber<\/a>, who plays Lee Adama on <cite>Battlestar Galactica<\/cite>.<\/p>\n<p>Well, Naomi was singing the praises of Welsh actor <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ioanonline.com\/\">Ioan Gruffudd<\/a>; I had seen him only as Reed Richards in <cite>Fantastic Four<\/cite>, but it turns out he was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ioanonline.com\/index.php?set_albumName=album49&id=cap3&name=gallery&include=view_photo.php\">Lancelot<\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ioanonline.com\/index.php?set_albumName=album49&id=cap34&name=gallery&include=view_photo.php\">another photo<\/a>) (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ioanonline.com\/index.php?set_albumName=album49&id=cap5&name=gallery&include=view_photo.php\">and another<\/a>) in that recent <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0349683\/\">King Arthur<\/a> movie that I meant to see 'cause Keira Knightley played Guinevere; and, more famously, he played Horatio Hornblower in the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hornblower_%28TV_series%29\">Hornblower<\/a> series of eight made-for-TV movies based on the Hornblower books.<\/p>\n<p>I haven't read the Hornblower books, though various friends of mine love 'em, and I haven't previously had much interest in seeing the movies\/series.  But Naomi pointed out that Jamie Bamber is in them, and then she showed me a lovely <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ioanonline.com\/index.php?set_albumName=album28&id=HH2Mut8&name=gallery&include=view_photo.php\">slash moment photo<\/a>, which I hereby title \"Best Friends.\"<\/p>\n<p>I'm told that much bad slash fiction has been written about these two.  If I were the sort to write slash, I'd probably write some bad slash about them myself.  But instead I think I'll settle for just looking at the photo some more.
