{"id":3902,"date":"2007-05-18T15:26:15","date_gmt":"2007-05-18T22:26:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kith.org\/journals\/jed\/2007\/05\/18\/3902.html"},"modified":"2007-05-18T15:26:15","modified_gmt":"2007-05-18T22:26:15","slug":"welcome-baby-kavya","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/jed\/2007\/05\/18\/welcome-baby-kavya\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome, baby Kavya!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Mary Anne's sister Mirna just called to let me know that Mary Anne and Kevin's baby, Kavya, was born at 11:30 a.m. (Chicago time) this morning (May 18).<\/p>\n<p>She weighs 7 pounds, 7 and a half ounces, and is 19 and a half inches long. Everyone concerned is doing well.<\/p>\n<p>Kevin will be providing photos sometime in the next couple days; keep an eye on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mamohanraj.com\/journal\/\">Mary Anne's journal<\/a> for photos and more info.  I assume that M and Kavya will be in the hospital for at least the next few days, since the birth was a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mayoclinic.com\/health\/c-section\/PR00101\">c-section<\/a>, so I'm guessing there won't be any direct updates from M 'til she gets home. And I gather that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.csectionrecovery.com\/\">c-section recovery<\/a> can sometimes be slow and difficult, so updates may be intermittent for a while even after she gets home.  Or not; we'll see.<\/p>\n<p>I was so pleased at the news that I totally forgot to ask Mirna to relay my congratulations.  So: Congratulations!  Yay, Mary Anne!  Yay, Kevin!  Yay, Kavya!<\/p>\n<p>If y'all want to congratulate them as well, stop by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mamohanraj.com\/journal\/show-entry.php?Entry_ID=3934\">announcement in Mary Anne's journal<\/a> and post a comment there.<\/p>\n<p>Addendum, added a few hours later: I should have known that M wouldn't allow herself to be kept offline for that long.
