And sometimes when I do peek at them, I come across some pretty cool stuff.

Case in point: Charlie Stross is not only an excellent sf writer, he's also a blogger. A recent posting discusses a new art form called Dictionaraoke, in which musicians take the instrumental tracks of pop songs and add, in place of a human singer, recordings of the words as pronounced in various online dictionaries. The results are mixed, but I ditto Stross's recommendation of their rendition of the Buggles' "Video Killed the Radio Star"—I don't like this version as much as I like the original, but I like it a lot more than the version that appeared in The Wedding Singer (no, I didn't see the movie, but I've heard the song). I also kinda like the version of John Denver's "Take Me Home, Country Road" with an "All Your Base Are Belong to Us" vocal overlay.

Stross also features an interesting commentary on the possible future of the U.S. Among other things. Like a bunch of his published fiction.

I try not to read blogs (unless you count a few online journals of friends of mine), because (like MUSHes…

[1

post-549","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized
["GET
