Friday night, I got another 4 hours' sleep, due to suddenly waking up at 4:15 a.m. to what I thought was someone knocking loudly on the door of my hotel room. For the next couple hours, I was too sleepy to get up and investigate the door, but too much awake to get back to sleep again.

The next night, I tried good old NyQuil. With its help, I got . . . maybe another 5 hours' sleep. This time I was up late, and was awakened a little after 6 a.m. by loud noises that I think were someone walking around in the room above me. Which is probably what had been going on the night before as well. And again I couldn't really sleep after that, though I dozed a bit.

Sunday night I tried NyQuil again, and this time I woke up at 4 something even without the help of loud noises in the night.

So I've had, oh, maybe about 18 hours' sleep spread over the last four nights. Probably a little more; judging by my state of consciousness (i.e., not totally incoherent, just mostly), I must've dozed more than I thought during those nights. But still. Not enough.

Running a pretty ragged edge at this point. And about a week behind on SH reading. And I have a deadline at work in the morning.

So if I owe you email, I apologize; I'm not likely to manage a response soon. Likewise, I'll probably be pretty quiet here for a few days.

Workshop was good, but even more exhausting than it would’ve normally been, due to sleep deprivation.
