Way back in June, I mentioned The Man Who Melted Jack Dann<\/a>, a game I got from the Nielsen Haydens' web page<\/a>. (There's plenty else worth gandering at on them there pages, such as Patrick's koan<\/a> about manuscripts at conventions.)<\/p>\r\n

Webmaster Will called me from his car sometime around the time I posted that entry, to suggest a couple of other Melters. And because I sometimes wax exceeding slow and lazy, I left his messages on my answering machine, to await a time when I had my computer handy in the same room as the answering machine and could type in what he'd suggested.<\/p>\r\n

As those of you in the back mumbling to each other and looking at calendars and counting on your fingers with a puzzled sort of expression have so astutely noticed, that was over seven months ago. A lifetime in web years. Those aren't the only old messages sitting on my answering machine waiting to be answered, but they were the oldest. (Not the record-holders, though; there was one that sat there for over a year before I decided the statute of limitations had run out and I could delete it.)<\/p>\r\n

Moral: don't expect Jed to do things in a timely fashion.<\/p>\r\n

At any rate, here are Will's suggestions. The last one doesn't, as Will noted, quite make sense, but I like it anyway.<\/p>\r\n
