Another letter from early in the summer quarter at Antioch, this one quite brief.<\/p>\r\n
First mention of the Antioch School<\/a>, a school for Antioch faculty children where Antioch students taught. (See also Antioch School 90th anniversary— A school that runs like a family<\/a>.)<\/p>\r\n As usual in the letters from this period, a request for allergy meds, and a query about her father\u2019s health. It sounds like he had some kind of eye surgery around this time.<\/p>\r\n <\/p>\r\n <\/p>\r\n Postmark: Jul 17, 1965, Yellow Springs, Ohio. \r\n friday\r\n\r\nHello\r\n\r\nJust finished my syllabus for an independent study in how\r\nmodern math is taught in the elementary schools--lots of\r\nreading and struggle, but ought to be worth while. working\r\nwith a teacher from the Antioch school (where lots of\r\nfaculty kids go; kind of a lab school--I'll be student\r\nteaching there next spring) who is kind of interested in\r\nmath.\r\n\r\nit suddenly occurs to me that I have to meet with him in\r\nabout 20 minutes and need to go and find some book titles.\r\nletter suddenly curtailed in the interest of\r\nsame......briefly, then, all xxxx else is fine, reading a\r\nlot, doing lots of independent work, buying books, thinking,\r\ntalking, and so forth. there is a swallow eating a berry\r\noutside my window. the allergy season is blossoming, and\r\nI'll need xxxx some more ambodryls pretty quick, like\r\nprobably by the xxxxx time you get this. getting to be time\r\nto find a new antihistamine.\r\n\r\nhope the operation is all xxxx over and successful and\r\nrecovered, and you're both home and suitably bored. let me\r\nknow what's happening in that area--lenses, glasses, etc.\r\n\r\nalso hope Alan's accident when I was there turned out to be\r\nminor......\r\n\r\nreally have to run; more later.\r\n\r\n love\r\n\r\n [handwritten: Marcia]\r\n\r\n[handwritten: p.s. got the package with dress, skirt,\r\ntowel—thanks.]\r\n<\/pre>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n
