This is mostly a thank-you note, but it also mentions Marcy being in the hospital. I\u2019m not certain of this, but I think that was when she got her tubes tied\u2014I vaguely recall her being in the hospital for a few days for that. But seven days seems like a long time, so maybe this was something else.<\/p>\r\n

The note is in Marcy\u2019s handwriting, but the repetitiveness of the phrasing makes me think that I dictated it, or at least part of it.<\/p>\r\n

George and Helen had apparently recently sent me some stationery with art showing a kid playing baseball, in a striped uniform that was similar to the one that I liked to wear. The first image below is a photo of the envelope from that stationery:<\/p>\r\n

And the next image is from the back of the letter. Under it, Marcy wrote: \u201cJed was not ready to use his own baseball stationery yet but he wanted to send you this traced picture \u2026 ?????\u201d I assume that Marcy did the tracing; I wasn\u2019t yet holding a pen very steadily.<\/p>\r\n

Dear Grandma & Grandpa<\/p>\r\n

That was very nice of you to send the package of the stationery and it was very nice of you to send us those envelopes. It was very nice of you to send the two towels with the the three ducks and the box with the baseball bat and the boy and the ball.<\/p>\r\n

Mama has been in the hospital seven days but she came out today.<\/p>\r\n

I hope you had a happy Valentine's Day. The Hospital made me & Joaquin a Valentines present.<\/p>\r\n
