Now, usually, in something like that, the actor gets all the credit that should by rights go to the author, and I suspect that in fact that is true in this case as well. The thing is, I&#8217;ve never liked any of Mr. Mortimers&#8217;s plays, novels, or even Rumpole adaptations that I&#8217;ve read. I&#8217;ve always felt a trifle guilty about that, actually. So when I saw <a href=\"http:\/\/us.penguingroup.com\/nf\/Book\/BookDisplay\/0,,0_0670034096,00.html\">Where There's a Will: Thoughts on the Good Life<\/a> on the shelf, I thought I would give it another shot.\n<p>Well, and you&#8217;ll notice that my aversion above is in the present tense, or at least the past imperfect, or whatever it&#8217;s called.
