{"id":10556,"date":"2007-06-25T19:42:43","date_gmt":"2007-06-25T23:42:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kith.org\/journals\/vardibidian\/2007\/06\/25\/10556.html"},"modified":"2018-03-12T16:56:30","modified_gmt":"2018-03-12T21:56:30","slug":"book-report-lady-friday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/vardibidian\/2007\/06\/25\/book-report-lady-friday\/","title":{"rendered":"Book Report: Lady Friday"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Sadly, <a href=\"http:\/\/scholastic.com\/titles\/keys\/books.htm#Friday\">Lady Friday<\/a> had all the flaws of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kith.org\/vardibidian\/journal\/show-entry.php?Entry_ID=10515\">Sir Thursday<\/a>, but magnified because Your Humble Blogger just read <I>Thursday<\/I> a month ago.\n<p>Again, there were good bits&#8212;I particularly liked the portrayal of Friday herself as an addict, terrifying and pathetic, her own weakness making her both easy to defeat and incredibly dangerous. I liked the Paper Pushers, and the silent wossnames that fly, and some of the rest of the world-building. But the Piper and the Mariner were just useless, and just generally all the conflicts were easily solved or sidestepped. The plots seem very half-hearted. Ah, well.
