OK, I know where the outrage is, and it's sitting in the heads of some of the readers of this very blog, but still.\n\n<p>The BBC <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/2\/hi\/programmes\/correspondent\/3028585.stm\">is reporting<\/a> that not only were we all misled about what actually happened to Private Lynch while she was a prisoner (which was a pretty brief moment of exaggeration, quickly exposed) but that <i>the entire raid which rescued her was unnecessary and phony<\/i>.\n\n<p>They report that (a) the Iraqi military has already left the area, so the daring raid was made in a totally undefended area, and the special forces knew that, and (2) the hospital had attempted to <i>deliver Pvt. Lynch to the American forces in an ambulance<\/i> two days before the raid actually took place.\n\n<p>I try not to get too outraged; it's bad for the grammar (and the italics). I know that the claims that Hussein's army were massing on the Saudi border in 1990 were bogus; I know that Clinton lied to us about a variety of things, not just his sex life. I even know that the Iraqi nurses who claim to have been witnesses may be the ones who are lying. But, doesn't this just make your jaw drop?\n\nThank you,<br>\n-Vardibidian\n<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Where&#8217;s the outrage?
