And, therefore, in democracy.\n\n<p>The only good news is that turnout was ... well, it didn&#8217;t stink. There are 21,833,141 people in the State of California who are eligible to vote, of whom a whopping 15,380,536 actually bothered to register before September 22. Of those, perhaps seven and a half million made it to the polls. Well, I don&#8217;t really know if that counts the two million who voted absentee. Anyway, millions of people exercised their right to vote, and came together to make an unbelievably stupid decision.\n\n<p>Isn&#8217;t that beautiful?\n\n<p>Of course, my opinion is not worth any more than any of the 3 million people who clearly felt the decision was not stupid.
