After all, the web page isn’t particularly persuasive, and their instructions aren’t very inspired. I mean, I’m happy they are there, but ... essentially, the site just gives you a link to an online registration-form site, which lets you type in info and fill out a mail-in registration form. It tells you to let people know by sending a memo (probably by email) and putting up a poster or two. It’s hard to believe that much will happen that way.\n
Further up the page there are other suggestions, my favorite is a shopping-district trip registering employees. It’s worth trying, and you might get a few people to register, but I’m not convinced that those people will vote. I suspect that getting people to register is comparatively easier, compared to getting them to vote.\n
I’m not knocking the Granny; her own tactic (wandering around the country drawing attention to herself and then registering people drawn to that attention) is a wonderful one. But I’m looking for an epidemic of voting, not just incremental added voters.\n
Redintegro Iraq,
-Vardibidian.\n<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
I happened to be reminded of Granny D, who is on a voter-registration drive.
