Suffice it to say I am optimistic, tho&#8217; not sanguine. Even the polls that look bad for Sen. Kerry look bad for Our Only President as well; there is no sense that more than half of the electorate think he has done a good job, or that the country is heading in the right direction. Given that, it will be a bit difficult for the incumbent to get more than half the vote.\n<p>Unless people change their minds.\n<p>I would like to be writing about how to persuade people to change their minds, not just about the candidates but about some broader issues in the campaign. But I haven&#8217;t any new ideas about that right now, nor have I seen any recently that I think are worth passing on to y&#8217;all. So, book reports, comments about movies and music and driving, and with any luck the next chapter of Better Together in the next day or two.
