One was a well-reviewed new book, borrowed off the new book shelf for only seven days, and one was a typical genre product I had read before and only mildly liked, out for three weeks and infinitely renewable. So, naturally, a week later, I returned Michael Chabon&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.harpercollins.com\/global_scripts\/product_catalog\/book_xml.asp?isbn=006076340X\">The Final Solution<\/a> to the library unread, having finished in that time Laurie King&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.randomhouse.com\/catalog\/display.pperl?0553579525\">The Moor<\/a>. I&#8217;m so lazy.\n<p>Now, it turns out, this summer will see the publication of another Russell\/Holmes novel, this one set in San Francisco, where they will meet and work with a certain tall, thin operative for the Pinkertons, with a handy turn of phrase.
