{"id":10870,"date":"2008-01-23T21:06:35","date_gmt":"2008-01-24T05:06:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kith.org\/journals\/neology\/2008\/01\/23\/griesel.html"},"modified":"2008-01-23T21:06:35","modified_gmt":"2008-01-24T05:06:35","slug":"griesel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/words\/2008\/01\/23\/griesel\/","title":{"rendered":"griesel"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\"Griesel\" is apparently another term for <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Biodiesel\">biodiesel<\/a>, more specifically for <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Vegetable_oil_used_as_fuel\">vegetable oil used as diesel fuel<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I first encountered the term in a story submitted to <cite>SH<\/cite>; did a web search, and came up with a few instances of it online, such as a <a href=\"http:\/\/transcripts.cnn.com\/TRANSCRIPTS\/0303\/16\/sm.02.html\">CNN transcript<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Ah, golden vegetable oil. It's not diesel, it's griesel.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Interestingly, apparently there's a guy whose birth name is <a href=\"http:\/\/pesn.com\/2005\/03\/11\/6900068_Griesel\/\">Ernest Griesel<\/a> who uses the stuff.
