S. Lewis, written around 1953; p, 76 of the 1994 HarperTrophy paperback edition<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Don't recall ever seeing this word elsewhere, and it's not in MW3 (Unabridged!).  But Webster's 1913 has it: <a href=\"http:\/\/websters.wunderdictionary.com\/dictionary\/def\/english\/bobance.html\">bobance<\/a> is defined as \"a boasting.\"  The Free Dictionary also lists <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thefreedictionary.com\/Bobance\">bobance<\/a>, with a quote for reference:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\"We have had enough bobance and boasting,\" said Hordle John, rising and throwing off his doublet.<\/p>\n<p>--Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, <cite><a href=\"http:\/\/doyle.thefreelibrary.com\/The-White-Company\">The White Company<\/a><\/cite><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> &#8216;Puddleglum,&#8217; they&#8217;ve said, &#8216;you&#8217;re altogether too full of bobance and bounce and high spirits.[&#8230;]&#8217; &#8211;The Silver Chair, by C.
