{"id":17266,"date":"2018-03-22T10:02:53","date_gmt":"2018-03-22T17:02:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/words\/?p=17266"},"modified":"2018-03-17T14:20:42","modified_gmt":"2018-03-17T21:20:42","slug":"ogham-transliterator","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/words\/2018\/03\/22\/ogham-transliterator\/","title":{"rendered":"ogham transliterator"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>Back in column OOO, I wrote a fairly detailed discussion of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/words\/2000\/07\/16\/ooogham\/\">ogham<\/a>, an alphabet used in some contexts in ancient Ireland and elsewhere.<\/p>\r\n<p>I recently came across a cute <a href=\"https:\/\/ogham.co\/\">ogham transliterator<\/a> tool online; you type in a sequence of letters, and it shows you what the ogham equivalent of that sequence would be.<\/p>\r\n<p>This is not, of course, a translation tool. If you type in an English word, you\u2019ll get the ogham characters corresponding to the letters of that word, but it probably won\u2019t be a real word in any language that ogham was historically used for.<\/p>\r\n<p>Still, a fun toy.
