{"id":18014,"date":"2019-09-08T11:05:43","date_gmt":"2019-09-08T18:05:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/words\/?p=18014"},"modified":"2019-09-07T11:14:05","modified_gmt":"2019-09-07T18:14:05","slug":"spidergram","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/words\/2019\/09\/08\/spidergram\/","title":{"rendered":"spidergram"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>Note: Arachnophobic people may want to skip this post.<\/p>\r\n<p>The Wikipedia article about <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Note-taking\">note-taking<\/a> uses the word <i>spidergram<\/i>. It turns out that spidergrams are better known as <i>spider diagrams<\/i>, and that in the context of note-taking, that basically means <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mind_map\">mind-mapping<\/a>, which I was previously familiar with. But I\u2019m posting about the word <i>spidergram<\/i> for three reasons:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n  <li>I\u2019m amused by my mental image of a person dressed up as a spider showing up at one\u2019s door to sing a message.<\/li>\r\n  <li>Speaking of songs, the theme song to the beloved animated TV show <cite>Spidergram<\/cite> is now stuck in my head.<\/li>\r\n  <li>I\u2019m amused by this phrase from the Wikipedia article for <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Spider_diagram\">spider diagram<\/a>: \u201ca unitary spider diagram adds existential points to an Euler or a Venn diagram.\u201d It turns out that an existential point is not, as I initially interpreted it, an existentialist claim, but I\u2019m still amused.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[58],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-18014","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-new-to-me-words"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/words\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/18014","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/words\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/words\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/words\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/5"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/words\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=18014"}],"version-history":[{"count":2,"href":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/words\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/18014\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":18016,"href":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/words\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/18014\/revisions\/18016"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/words\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=18014"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/words\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=18014"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/words\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=18014"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
