{"id":18052,"date":"2019-10-25T09:42:48","date_gmt":"2019-10-25T16:42:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/words\/?p=18052"},"modified":"2019-10-25T09:42:48","modified_gmt":"2019-10-25T16:42:48","slug":"some-font-identification-tools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kith.org\/words\/2019\/10\/25\/some-font-identification-tools\/","title":{"rendered":"Some font identification tools"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>I\u2019ve linked in the past to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.identifont.com\/\">Indentifont<\/a>, which asks you a series of questions about a font to help identify it.<\/p>\r\n<p>But I only just found out that there are several services that can identify a font based on an <em>image<\/em> of characters from the font.<\/p>\r\n<p>In particular:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n  <li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.myfonts.com\/WhatTheFont\/\">WhatTheFont<\/a>, from MyFonts. Finds matches among their fonts. Also available as a mobile app.<\/li>\r\n  <li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.findmyfont.com\/\">Find my Font<\/a>. Not limited to MyFonts fonts, but the desktop version does cost money (after a free trial period). But they too have a mobile app, which appears to be free.<\/li>\r\n  <li><a href=\"http:\/\/fontmoose.devroye.org\/cgi-bin\/FontMoose\">Font Moose<\/a>. Beta software, limited to MyFonts fonts, and in my one attempt to use it so far, it didn\u2019t correctly identify the font.
